Layer rendering function allows the user to render the scene in separate layers where the user can choose to render specific objects with special material attributes. Layer rendering has the convenience of saving the user from having to re-render the entire image every time the user makes any changes, allowing the user to just re-render the layer(s) that the user needs. The layer rendering also allows the user to have a better grasp in the composition stage later on, such as adjusting the shadow, ambient occlusion, diffuse, etc. The function is only applicable for Maya render task. The availability of layer rendering function in our desktop client has revolutionized the rendering process by making the whole rendering experience more accessible and convenient.
Fox Renderfarm Desktop Client supports the splitting of the render layers into several tasks for submission, thus giving the user a more standardized management of the rendering tasks.
The “Setting” button is located at the top right corner of the desktop client. After clicking the button, a window with General Setting, Project Setting, Network Setting and Plan tabs will appear.
Check “Specify layer rendering” option to enable the layer rendering function.
Specify Layer Rendering
Option I: After the analysis is complete, the layer is automatically split into multiple tasks to submit, after submission. The tasks will be using the default settings and there will be no any pop-up window.
Option II: When the file has been analyzed and the analysis status shows that analysis is done, the user can click “Next” and a layered submission window will pop-up. The user can set the render frame and priority render frame setting, as well as auto full-speed or manual full-speed option.
When the analysis is complete, the layers are automatically split into multiple task for submission and render using the default parameters. The user can now press “Submit” to start the layer rendering process.
