Identify the Movement: At the start of the process, point out the segments in your animation where a smear frame can improve the motion. Usually, instances such as rapid movement and swift punches are selected to implement this technique.
Model the Smear: As the animator has picked the movements, it is time to create the smear by either duplicating the object or stretching it. To create these new versions, the original model is manipulated in different ways to give a sense of blurred motion.
Apply Deformations: Next, use some deformation tools in your 3D software to adjust the mesh of your character or object. When dealing with Autodesk Maya, an animator can use &ldquo;lattice&rdquo; or &ldquo;non-linear&rdquo; tools to apply these desired changes.
Animate the Smear: Now that deformation has been done, insert the smear into the keyframes to align with the speed and direction of movement. One needs to make sure this smear is inserted precisely to bridge the gap between the starting and ending points.
