3D Coat 2023.26 Released

3DCoat is an application that facilitates the fast creation of intricate 3D models. Recently, Pilgway released 3DCoat 2023.26, which offers various innovative features and enhanced performance.

One of the major new features is support for Vector Displacement Maps (VDMs). When sculpting surfaces, VDMs can add intricate details like 2D alphas. Unlike standard alphas which only displace the surface in one direction, VDMs displace it in three dimensions, which speeds up the process of 3D sketching and creation.

Another important update is the new Python API. This feature is similar to the Core API introduced in the previous version in 2022. However, the Python API uses Python instead of C++ and enables the use of existing Python libraries within 3DCoat, with the cost of reduced performance.

3DCoat 2023.26 is available for Windows 7+, Ubuntu 20.04+ and macOS 10.13+.
