Autodesk released Maya Creative, a flexible alternative to Maya.
Maya Creative has most of Maya's features, such as Animation and rigging, 3D modeling, Rendering, Dynamics and effects and more. However, it is important to note that some of the features are not complete. You can compare the features of Maya and Maya Creative.
Maya Creative aims to lower the creative barrier for artists and make content creation more accessible. It's available on Windows and Mac. To use it, artists need Autodesk Flex. A free 30-day trial of Maya Creative is currently available.
